Consulting firm Reputation Lab has released its latest ranking of countries with the best international reputation, derived from the “RepCore Nations 2025” study. This survey was conducted among citizens of the wealthiest nations, the G7 group. Spain has once again secured a position in the top 20, while the United States experienced the most significant decline since 2024, dropping 18 places to 48th. Factors such as threats of new tariffs and changing attitudes toward NATO are believed to have contributed to growing skepticism about U.S. policies and its global commitments.
Methodology Behind the Ranking
Respondents from the G7 countries—Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States—were asked to evaluate other nations based on criteria including trust, admiration, respect, and overall image.
“Countries with a stronger reputation can attract more foreign investment, tourists, or respect in international organizations,” the report highlights.
Leading Nations in the Ranking
Switzerland retained its top spot, praised for its neutrality, effective governance, and high quality of life. Canada climbed two positions to second place, benefiting from its well-established reputation for inclusiveness and diplomacy.
The following four positions were dominated by Northern European countries: Norway, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark. These nations are recognized for their political stability, transparency, and notable achievements in environmental protection.
