Black Friday remains the most eagerly awaited shopping event of the year. While its origins lie in the United States, this commercial phenomenon has steadily gained momentum worldwide, particularly in Spain.
As in previous years, many leading fashion retailers will launch their Black Friday campaigns early and extend discounts through the following Monday, known as Cyber Monday. This period traditionally marks the official start of the Christmas shopping season. Major brands such as H&M, Mango, and El Corte Inglés are already gearing up to attract shoppers with significant markdowns on selected collections.
The Swedish retailer H&M typically kicks off its promotions the night before Black Friday, primarily through its online platform. In 2025, it is expected to follow this pattern again, offering discounts ranging from 20% to 50% on seasonal apparel, accessories, and everyday essentials. Additionally, customers registered on the H&M app or enrolled in its loyalty program often receive exclusive extra benefits.
Mango adopts a more targeted approach to its Black Friday sales. The Catalan brand focuses discounts on specific fashion lines, with previous years seeing reductions of approximately 30% to 40%. These offers are available both in physical stores and online, usually starting on Thursday evening.
El Corte Inglés benefits from its extensive range, combining its own brands with international labels under one roof. Its Black Friday campaign traditionally launches on the Friday itself, although some discounts may appear as early as Wednesday or Thursday. The department store often features cross-promotions across various sections, including home appliances and perfumery. In the fashion category, discounts can reach up to 40% on selected brands, frequently accompanied by free delivery.
Within the Inditex group—which includes Zara, Stradivarius, Bershka, Pull&Bear, Oysho, and Massimo Dutti—sales begin a day earlier, initially through each brand’s mobile app. About an hour later, the discounts become available on their websites, and by Friday, they extend to physical stores.
