Alicante-Elche Airport’s new direct flights to Yerevan mark its longest route yet, expanding connections beyond traditional tourist markets.

Direct Yerevan – Alicante Flights

Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport has introduced a direct, scheduled air service connecting Spain with Armenia. The inaugural FlyOne Armenia flight from Yerevan recently landed at El Altet, inaugurating a unique and strategic route.

This development positions El Altet as the second Spanish airport, after Barcelona, to offer direct flights to Armenia. It also signals a shift away from Alicante’s traditional image as a seasonal tourist hub focused primarily on sun and beach vacations.

Flights will operate twice weekly, on Thursdays and Sundays, according to schedules published by aviation tracking platforms. The flight details are as follows:

  • Flight 3F711 departs Yerevan at 16:20 and arrives in Alicante at 19:40, operated by an Airbus A320.
  • Flight 3F712 returns from Alicante at 20:40, landing in Yerevan early the next morning at 03:20.

A New Gateway for the Costa Blanca

This new route extends beyond merely adding a destination; it represents Alicante’s growing reach into less conventional markets. Armenia is neither a mass tourism source nor a common destination for Spanish airports, making this connection particularly significant.

The arrival of FlyOne Armenia at Alicante opens fresh opportunities between the Costa Blanca coast and the Caucasus region, fostering potential growth in tourism, resident travel, family visits, and cultural exchanges.

The Longest Direct Flight from El Altet

Another noteworthy aspect of this route is its distinction as the longest direct flight operated from El Altet Airport. Aviation experts have highlighted that the Alicante-Yerevan route surpasses even the distance to Reykjavik, Iceland.

The estimated distance between Alicante and Yerevan is approximately 2,398 miles, with flight durations ranging from 5 hours 30 minutes to 5 hours 50 minutes, depending on direction, schedule, and flight conditions.
