April 9: Formula V Concert

The Main Theatre of Alicante will host a concert by the legendary Spanish band Formula V, renowned for producing some of the country’s most enduring pop hits. Led by founder Paco Pastor, the group will perform timeless classics such as “Cuéntame,” “Eva María,” “Vacaciones de verano,” “La Fiesta de Blas,” “Tengo tu amor,” “Cenicienta,” “Ahora sé que me quieres,” and “Loco casi loco.” This unique show celebrates songs that have become part of the cultural fabric of Spanish-speaking countries.

April 9–12: Exhibition Featuring Picasso, Warhol, Murakami, and More

Until 18 May, the Sea Museum of Santa Pola presents an extraordinary exhibition showcasing works by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, Marc Chagall, and other prominent Spanish and international artists. The pieces come from the Vicente Aguilera Cerni Museum of Contemporary Art in Vilafamés (MACVAC) and the collections of Mariano Poyatos and Filomena De Lorenzo (Espai Nivi gallery). Many artworks are previously unpublished or recent acquisitions, offering a rare opportunity for discovery.

The exhibition is organized around four themes: “The Body,” “Rituals,” “Landscapes of the Soul,” and “Transcendence.” It invites visitors on a reflective journey from physical and biographical experiences to abstract and symbolic realms. Curators emphasize that the exhibition is an open-ended exploration, where each artwork serves as a threshold and each room a space for personal contemplation.

April 9–12: 38th Book Fair in Torrevieja

The 38th Book Fair continues until 15 April along Paseo Vista Alegre in Torrevieja. Visitors can browse numerous stands featuring local bookstores offering discounts on a wide range of titles. The fair also includes opportunities to meet well-known authors, enjoy musical performances, poetry readings, and participate in literary workshops.

April 9–12: Raluy Legacy Circus Tour in Elche

The internationally acclaimed Raluy Legacy Circus is performing at Recinto Feria de San Andrés (Plà Nou) in Elche until 19 April. Their innovative show “Cyborg” immerses audiences in a futuristic world of magnetic, robotic characters and features daring acts like the “Globe of Death” performed in darkness.

April 9–12: Daily Trips to Tabarca Island

Visitors can take daily boat trips from the ports of Torrevieja, Santa Pola, or Alicante to Tabarca Island, the largest and only inhabited island in the Valencian Community. The island offers stunning underwater views, rich marine biodiversity, local cuisine, and historical landmarks. The boat accommodates up to 250 passengers, including those with reduced mobility and pets. Food and drinks are permitted on board.

April 10: Friday Market in Torrevieja

Every Friday, the Torrevieja street market takes place at Parque Antonio Soria, one of the largest small-business hubs in the Vega Baja region. Spanning 82,000 square meters, it features up to 700 stalls offering food, clothing, footwear, accessories, and more at prices competitive with major supermarket chains. The market provides amenities including free parking, public restrooms, and a taxi stand. An accessible bus service runs every 20 minutes from 08:00 to 14:00.

Additionally, from Friday to Sunday starting at 19:30, an amusement and games park is open for all ages at the same location.

April 10: Children’s Show “Mini Break”

In celebration of International Dance Day, the Gran Teatro of Elche presents “Mini Break,” an interactive hip-hop show designed for children aged 4 to 9. The performance introduces young audiences to the history and philosophy of hip-hop through engaging visuals and storytelling.

The Municipal Theatre of Torrevieja presents the beloved musical “Sonrisas y lágrimas,” set in 1938 Salzburg, Austria. The story follows Maria Rainer, a young novice whose free spirit and love of music challenge the strict convent rules. Sent to be governess to Captain Georg von Trapp’s seven children, Maria brings joy, music, and love to the household, awakening feelings in the captain that make her question her future in the abbey.

This production by Theatre Properties features moving storytelling, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s unforgettable music, and majestic sets that transport audiences to 1930s Austria—from the convent to the von Trapp villa and the breathtaking Alps.
