Qtal Gourmet presents the “Sabor & Cultura” (“Taste and Culture”) event in Torrevieja, a sophisticated evening blending gastronomy, wine, and live music. Held at the Municipal Theatre of Torrevieja, the event features a curated dinner paired with wines from Bodegas Chozas Carrascal. May 14: Play “Un monstruo viene a verme”
At the Teatro Principal in Alicante, the play “Un monstruo viene a verme” (“A Monster Comes to See Me”) tells the poignant story of 13-year-old Conor, who faces recurring nightmares since his mother’s illness. One night, a yew tree in the garden transforms into a monster, guiding Conor through nightly adventures that help him confront his fears.

May 14–17: “Croqueteando por Torrevieja 2026” Gastronomic Route
Until 17 May, Torrevieja invites food lovers to enjoy a diverse croquette tasting tour. This popular event features local bars and restaurants offering a variety of croquettes—from traditional recipes to innovative creations incorporating modern flavors and techniques. For just €3.50, visitors can enjoy a croquette and a drink at participating venues.
Options include croquettes with chicken, Iberian pork, seafood, oxtail, and inventive combinations featuring coconut, pork cheeks, and even sweet varieties.
Participants can scan QR codes at each venue to enter prize draws, encouraging exploration of multiple establishments.

May 14–17: Exhibition of Works by Picasso, Warhol, Murakami, and Other Masters
The Maritime Museum of Santa Pola hosts an exceptional exhibition featuring works by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Takashi Murakami, Marc Chagall, and other renowned Spanish and international artists. The pieces come from the Vicente Aguilera Contemporary Art Museum in Vilafamés (MACVAC) and the collections of Mariano Poyatos and Filomena De Lorenzo (Espai Nivi gallery).
This unique exhibition includes previously unpublished paintings and recent acquisitions, organized around four themes: “Body,” “Rituals,” “Landscapes of the Soul,” and “Transcendence.” Visitors are invited to embark on a contemplative journey through these thematic spaces, experiencing art at their own pace.

May 14–17: Trip to Tabarca Island
Daily boat trips depart from the ports of Torrevieja, Santa Pola, and Alicante to Tabarca Island, the largest and only inhabited island in the Valencian Community. Visitors can enjoy crystal-clear underwater views, explore rich marine biodiversity, dine at local restaurants, and visit historical landmarks.
The boats accommodate up to 250 passengers, including those with reduced mobility and pets. Passengers may bring their own food and drinks onboard.

May 15: Friday Market in Torrevieja
Every Friday, the extensive street market at Parque Antonio Soria operates as one of the largest small-business hubs in the Vega Baja region. Covering 82,000 square meters, up to 700 stalls offer a wide range of products including food, clothing, footwear, and accessories at competitive prices.
The market provides amenities such as free parking, public restrooms, and a taxi rank. An accessible bus service runs every 20 minutes from 8:00 to 14:00, catering to people with reduced mobility and wheelchair users.
From Friday to Sunday evenings starting at 19:30, an amusement and games park is also open for all ages.
May 15: Musical “We Love Disco”
At Teatro Circo in Orihuela, the musical “We Love Disco” celebrates iconic disco and dance hits spanning generations. The production features five multidisciplinary artists, six acrobatic dancers, a DJ, and 80 square meters of LED screens, delivering a dynamic musical journey with over 100 hits from artists like ABBA, Donna Summer, Bee Gees, Gloria Gaynor, Madonna, Lady Gaga, and Boney M.
