BigSound Festival Expands Its Reach
Following successful editions in Valencia, Seville, and Pontevedra over the past two years, BigSound Festival is embarking on a new chapter by adding fresh locations to its itinerary. On 25–26 July 2026, the festival will be hosted for the first time in Torrevieja, at Antonio Soria Park. Additionally, Barakaldo in the Basque Country will join the roster of host cities.
Having attracted over 300,000 attendees to date, BigSound has solidified its status as the largest music event in Valencia, ranking among the top five festivals in the Valencian Community and serving as a major platform for mainstream and urban music across Europe. The festival has also demonstrated a remarkable ability to draw international audiences and generate significant economic and tourism benefits for each city it visits.
Economic Impact of BigSound in Valencia
Over the past five years in Valencia, BigSound has delivered a direct economic impact exceeding 200 million euros, with indirect effects approaching 300 million euros. The festival has supported the creation of more than 2,200 direct jobs and 2,000 indirect jobs. On peak festival days, hotel occupancy rates have soared to 92%. Notably, 64% of attendees traveled from outside Valencia, representing visitors from across Spain and over a dozen other countries.
BigSound’s Success in Galicia and Seville
In Galicia, BigSound Pontevedra attracted over 35,000 visitors, generating an estimated economic impact of 14 million euros and creating employment for more than 1,300 professionals. The event quickly became the premier summer music festival in Galicia and secured a place among the top five music festivals in the region.
In Seville, across two editions held at Plaza de España, BigSound drew over 30,000 attendees, with 41% coming from outside the city and 16% being international visitors. The festival has played a key role in enhancing Seville’s reputation as one of Spain’s leading destinations for live music.
Audience Profile
The average age of BigSound attendees is approximately 27 years old. More than half of the audience falls within the 25 to 36 age bracket, while 24% are between 18 and 24 years old. Women make up 56% of the festival’s audience, highlighting its broad appeal.
