Spain has made notable strides in the Global Quality of Life Index compiled by Numbeo, securing 18th place worldwide in 2025. This marks a significant improvement from its 24th position a decade ago. The report evaluates 30 countries using a comprehensive set of indicators including cost of living, safety, healthcare quality, environmental pollution, and other key factors, highlighting a positive trajectory in Spain’s international quality of life standing.

Spain’s advancement is largely attributed to its robust healthcare system, progressive social welfare policies, and a generally safe living environment, all of which contribute to higher life satisfaction among residents. Additionally, Spain’s favorable climate, rich cultural heritage, and extensive range of services continue to make it an attractive destination for both tourism and long-term living.
