19 March: Children’s Musical “La Isla de Maui: Tributo a Vaiana”

At the Kinépolis cinema center in Alicante, the children’s musical La Isla de Maui: Tributo a Vaiana will be performed. Premiered in November 2024, the story follows Vaiana, a courageous chief’s daughter from a seafaring tribe, who embarks on an ocean adventure to save her island and discover her destiny. Accompanied by the demigod Maui, they face challenges that highlight the importance of friendship, courage, and a connection with nature.

20 March: Friday Market in Torrevieja

Every Friday, the Torrevieja street market operates in Parque Antonio Soria, one of the largest small-business hubs in the Vega Baja region. Spanning 82,000 sq. m, it features up to 700 stalls offering food, clothing, footwear, accessories, and more at prices often lower than major supermarkets. The market provides free parking, public toilets, and a taxi rank. Additionally, an accessible bus service departs every 20 minutes from 8:00 to 14:00, catering to people with reduced mobility and wheelchair users.

20 March: “Música sin fronteras” Festival

Running until 27 March, the 19th edition of the “Música sin fronteras” (Music Without Borders) Festival takes place weekly at the Ciudad Quesada Cultural Center in Rojales. Organized by the town hall’s Department of Culture, the festival is a cultural highlight of Alicante province, showcasing national and international artists and presenting works of high artistic value.

21–22 March: Theatrical Tours “Torrevieja and the Earthquake of 1829”

The cultural association Ars Creatio in Torrevieja offers historical theatrical routes focusing on the city’s early 19th-century history, especially the earthquake of 21 March 1829. Recommended for ages 12 and up, the tours combine history, theatre, and a city walk to vividly portray Torrevieja’s society and daily life during that period. The event is conducted entirely in Spanish.

22 March: Play “Parejas imperfectas”

In 1943, during the German occupation, Casals was invited to perform for Hitler, a refusal that could have had dire consequences.
